THE SPEECH OF ALLAH has a ‘voice’ that is distinct from the speech of man. The response that it evokes from its 1st audience in Makkah is as diverse as the conversations it begins to have with them.

Zakariyah Philander - Author of “The Story of the Qur’an
Educationist, Islamic Scholar and Imam
A struggle begins to play itself out, and Muhammad (pbuh) the appointed messenger navigates this struggle with the words of Allah as his primary support and guidance. At times Muhammad (pbuh) defends the Qur’an, but for the most part, the Qur’an defends itself and the messenger, and positions itself as a criterion between truth and falsehood.
In this ‘The Story of the Qur’an’ the author shows how the Qura’n in its dialogue with man begins to lay the foundations for a new society, not without a challenge by the powers who oppose it and immense sacrifice by those who adhere to it. He goes on to show how complex struggles are playing itself out in the 21st century that are not dissimilar to those that played out when the Qur’an was 1st revealed in Makkah.
