A struggle begins to play itself out, and Muhammad (pbuh) the appointed messenger navigates this struggle with the words of Allah as his primary support and guidance. At times Muhammad (pbuh) defends the Qur’an, but for the most part, the Qur’an defends itself and the messenger, and positions itself as a criterion between truth and falsehood.
